Police search for two missing girls in separate incidents

Philadelphia police are searching for two missing girls: Lizzia Ventura, 12, left, and Kaira Watkins, 15.

Philadelphia police is asking for public assistance in efforts to locate two missing girls.

Lizzia Ventura, 12, a resident of the 2900 block of Gordon Street in Strawberry Mansion, was last seen by her mother on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at about 7:30 a.m., when she dropped her off at school.

The girl's mother tells investigators that Lizzia has a history of running away. Police provided this description of Lizzia: 5-foot-5, 110 lbs, with brown eyes, and brown hair that has blonde and green highlights on the right side of her head. She was last seen wearing a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt with white specks, a white tank top with green and orange stripes, blue jeans and maroon boots.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Lizzia Ventura is asked to please contact Central Detective Division at 215-686-3093/94.

Police are also searching for 15-year-old Kaira Watkins, who lives on the 2800 block of North Garnet Street in Swampoodle.

She left for school on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 5:30 a.m. and has not returned. She did attend school, and was seen entering the subway at Broad Street and Olney Avenue after returning from Willow Grove Park mall with her friends.

Kaira is 5-foot-1, 140 lbs, with brown eyes, and black hair. She was last seen wearing her school uniform: a white Bishop McDevitt School blouse, a black cardigan, and a grey dress.
