The musical version of Tina Fey's film "Mean Girls" is hitting the stage this fall and Wednesday will be the first chance for fans to snatch up tickets.
Playbill announced Tuesday that American Express Card Members can buy tickets beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday while the general public can purchase single seats, which start at $48, beginning April 28 at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased here.
Mean Girls, the 2004 comedy written by Fey who grew up in Upper Darby, will debut at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C., from Oct. 31 until Dec. 3.
"Mean Girls" centers around Cady Heron, a high schooler trying to fit into her new Illinois lifestyle after moving from Africa where she lived with her zoologist parents.
Casey Nicholaw, of "The Book of Mormon" will direct the production, Fey's husband, Jeff Richmond, will compose the score and Nell Benjamin, of "Legally Blonde," has taken on the show's lyrics.
Casting for the musical will be announced shortly, according to Playbill.
