Twenty students charged in nude photo scandal at South Jersey high school

Students face invasion of privacy charges

Twenty male students at Lower Cape May Regional high school are facing criminal charges after allegedly circulating nude photos of female students.

According to CBS 3, the students, one of whom is considered an adult, are being charged with invasion of privacy, a third degree offense.

The younger students could face time in juvenile detention while the adult student faces up to five years in prison.

Cape May County Prosecutor Bob Taylor said that his office chose not to pursue child pornography charges, which would have carried much more serious consequences.

School officials are working with police to determine whether any more photos remain in circulation among students.
