Bomb crews sent to airport after report of potentially explosive 'organic material'

Authorities briefly evacuated the Atlantic City International Airport Wednesday afternoon as investigators assessed a potential explosive device inside the facility, officials said.

At around 4 p.m., police received a report of an "organic material" in the building that may be have been explosive, according to 6 ABC.

Bomb crews were called to the scene and the airport was cleared as a precautionary measure.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Earlier Wednesday, Atlantic City 911 referenced a suspicious package at the airport that was checked before travelers and employees were allowed to reenter the first floor of the building. It was not clear whether the two incidents were connected in any way.
