Enjoy a festive two-hour group ride through the neighborhood

Many Philadelphia neighborhoods go all out at the holidays, creating spectacular presentations of lights and decorations. In South Philadelphia, neighbors pool resources to create amazing displays.

Mark Dec. 15 down in your calendar. The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia will once again lead a bike ride through South Philly.

During the 7-mile group ride, participants will cycle past the Miracle on South 13th Street to see the festive holiday lights.

To really get into the holiday spirit, riders are asked to dress in costume and decorate their bikes. Lights, bells, reindeer antlers, Santa hats and any other festive gear is encouraged.

The ride will end at Garage South Philly (across the street from Pat's and Geno's), where someone will win the "Best Spirited Costume."

While the event is free with registration, a $5 donation is encouraged. Plus, those who donate will be entered into a raffle to win a new bike.

Participants should meet at 1300 S. Christopher Columbus Boulevard at 5 p.m. on Dec. 15.
