Person struck by train in Delco; SEPTA Regional Rail service resumes

SEPTA's Regional Rail service along the Wilmington/Newark line was halted at about 3:55 p.m. on Thursday after a person reportedly was struck by an Amtrak train.

At 5:39 p.m., SEPTA announced that service has resumed.

According to an announcement by SEPTA, police are currently investigating the incident which occurred at the Glenolden Station in Delaware County. Police could not provide any information about the condition or identity of the individual involved in the incident.

Contacted Thursday afternoon, a representative from the Glenolden Borough Police Department could provide no further information on the incident, except to say that officers were at the scene.

According to philly.com, an Amtrak train struck a person about a half mile from the Norwood Station.
