Bruce Jenner survives deadly 3-car pileup

One-time Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner was involved in a deadly car wreck on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu on Saturday, killing one and injuring 8 others.

The 65-year-old Jenner, who has gotten increased media attention while transitioning from a man to a woman, has reportedly blamed paparazzi for the accident, according to the New York Daily News, via TMZ.

Jenner reportedly told police he was fleeing five pursuing paparazzi when he rear-ended a white car. The vehicle then swerved into traffic and was hit by a Hummer.

Police have not yet released the identity of the one person killed in the accident, but 8 were injured and 3 cars were involved.

USA Today spoke to a witness who backed Jenner's claim of paparazzi immediately present at the scene of the accident.

"They were here right away, how could they have gotten here that fast otherwise?"  said Veronica Bermudez, an employee at the Malibu Roadhouse restaurant close to the site of the accident.

Despite rampant speculation and interest, Jenner has yet to speak publicly about the changes in his appearance during the transition process.
