Families are invited to celebrate Independence Day at the Please Touch Museum, where there will be special July Fourth activities all day.

At 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., children and adults can recreate the sound of fireworks by stomping on massive sheets of bubble wrap. No matter what age you are, it's satisfying to hear those air-filled pockets pop.

Other Fourth of July-themed activities kids can do are draw fireworks with oil pastels, plan a birthday party for America and listen to patriotic stories.

Families can also take carousel rides and explore the museum's permanent exhibits, which encourage children to use their imagination to grocery shop, go camping, launch a rocket into space and more.

There's also a temporary exhibit exploring Japanese culture.

The Please Touch Museum will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Fourth of July. Admission is $19 for adults and children age 1 and older.
