Six injured in serious multi-vehicle crash along Rt. 73 in South Jersey

A serious multi-vehicle crash along Route 73 in Winslow Township, N.J., has left several injured and a section of the road closed Monday morning, 6abc reports.

The crash, which involved six vehicles, occurred after 6 a.m. on Route 73 at Hayes Mill Road.

One vehicle appeared to be crushed between two others. Emergency responders were called to the scene.

Six people were transported to area hospitals, Winslow police said. Two were airlifted to Cooper Hospital with life-threatening injuries, two more went to Cooper by ground ambulance and the remaining two went to Virtua Hospital. NBC10 reports that a child was among those injured in the crash.

Both sides of Route 73 were shut down at the scene. 

The crash remains under investigation.
