Child struck, killed by SEPTA trolley in West Philadelphia

A two-year-old boy was struck and killed by a SEPTA trolley Thursday afternoon in West Philadelphia, NBC10 reports.

The incident occurred just after 1 p.m. near 51st Street and Lancaster Avenue, according to police.

An eyewitness told NBC10 that the toddler darted into the street.

Trolleys were being diverted via Girard Avenue in both directions due to the accident.
