CrossFit athletes raise money for Camden animal shelter

Fitness and animal lovers came together Saturday for a fundraiser to benefit the Camden County Animal Shelter (CCAS), the Courier-Post reports.

Athletes at West Berlin's CrossFit Furion gym collected donations to help fund the shelter's medical expenses and provide for the needs of its animals. The workout event raised $768 with homemade dog treats, gym membership raffles and more.

"We are so thrilled that CrossFit Furion wanted to help out and raise awareness for dogs who need homes from our shelter," CCAS volunteer Andrea Huhn told the Courier-Post. "Donations are always welcome, but we are happy with having exposure as well."

Carlo Profico, the owner of CrossFit Furion, told the Courier-Post he enjoys supporting the community.

"We've done it for years with our martial arts school (Buddo MMA) and are proud to host different fundraising events for animal shelters, organizations raising awareness for autism and others."
