Skip the cooking on April 20 and instead head to a local restaurant for the annual Dining Out for Life event.

Make a reservation at a participating restaurant, and 33 percent of your food bill will be donated to Action Wellness, which aids those living with HIV and AIDS. Some restaurants will be donating a percentage of beverage sales, too.

Two hundred restaurants across the Greater Philadelphia Area are participating this year.

Included in the list are steakhouses like Barclay Prime, cafés like Stargazy, ultra-notable restaurants like Zahav, newbies like Double Knot and bars like Good Dog.

There are plenty of options. To help narrow down the choice, the Dining Out for Life website has filters for cuisine, neighborhood and meal type.

Those who donate an additional $25 or more during their meal will receive a 20 percent off card that can be used at participating restaurants to get a discount on any Tuesday throughout the year.

Founded in Philadelphia in 1991, Dining Out for Life is now in 60 cities and raises more than $4 million annually for HIV and AIDS services. Last year, $200,000 was raised during Philly's Dining Out for Life event.

Can't make it to a restaurant on April 20 but still want to participate? There's another option. A pop-up food truck festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the 1300 block of Locust Street. Thirty-three percent of sales from the event will be donated to Action Wellness.
