The Eagles now have eight former Oregon Ducks on their roster after signing cornerback Walter Thurmond. They also retain the rights to exclusive rights free agent WR Jeff Maehl and could potentially bring back unrestricted free agent Casey Matthews. Per Adam Schefter of ESPN:

While Thurmond has experience playing on the outside, he played slot corner on the Seahawks' Super Bowl team in 2013. He then signed with the Giants in 2014 to play the slot, but was lost for the season Week 2 after suffering a torn pectoral muscle.

Interestingly, when Thurmond signed with the Giants in 2014, he called himself the best slot CB in the NFL, which Eagles slot corner Brandon Boykin took exception to:

This is a developing slot corner beef for the ages. Assuming the Eagles view Thurmond as a slot corner, Boykin's place on the roster could be in jeopardy.
