Eagles will likely avoid facing Vikings RB Adrian Peterson Week 7

Adrian Peterson could be out for months.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford won't just have those massive sleeves on his shoulders this season. Those shoulders will also have to carry the weight of the Vikings' offense, which could be without star running back Adrian Peterson for months, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network:

Peterson was off to a slow start this season (31 carries for 50 yards), but he is arguably the Vikings' most important player, even at 31 years of age. The Eagles could be beneficiaries of Peterson's surgery in two ways:

  1. They face the Vikings Week 7, so Peterson would be unavailable by then if the above report is correct.
  2. The Eagles of course hold the Vikings' first round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Logically, Peterson's absence will lower Minnesota's chances of making the playoffs.

The Eagles' Week 7 game against the Vikings will be at the Linc on October 23rd.
