Apples just taste better in the fall.

While these crisp, juicy autumn fruits are delicious on their own, they also make tasty ingredients in a number of recipes.

From pie to muffins to cider, there's no wrong way to eat an apple. Below are a few apple-inspired recipes from local food bloggers.

Apple Cider Muffins – Baker Bettie

Local blogger Baker Bettie' apple cider muffins are made with fresh shredded apples and an apple cider reduction. For added flavor, they're topped with a generous dose of brown sugar and almond streusel. Her recipe, which takes about 40 minutes to make, yields about 12 muffins.

On her blog, Stay Hungree, local foodie Amanda Shulman shares her love for apples with a recipe for apple sauce that "makes Mott’s look like cat food." The recipe combines delicious apples, cinnamon, honey and zest.
