Father of Trayvon Martin to speak at Arcadia University

Tracy Martin, father of the unarmed teenager killed in Florida in February 2012, will be at Arcadia University in Glenside tonight for an event named "Letters to Trayvon: A Celebration of Black Men and Boys". 

NBC 10 reports that Martin will participate in a live interview with Solomon Jones of the Philadelphia Daily News during an evening of events to honors Trayvon's memory and the legacy of Civil Rights. The night will will also feature the top three essays in a citywide Letters to Trayvon contest held for high school students.

Trayvon Martin was 17 years old when he was pursued and shot to death by George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer. Zimmerman was acquitted by a jury on all state charges in July 2013, claiming the shooting was in self-defense. 

General entrance to the event costs $10, with discounted tickets available to Arcadia students.
