Jet packs are no longer a thing of the future. If you've dreamed of strapping one on and soaring into the air like one of the Jetsons, you should try Flyboarding for your next adventure.

Flyboard is a water jet pack of sorts that attaches to the user's feet with wakeboard boots, rather than on the person's back like traditional jet pack models.

Water flows from the back of a jet ski through a hose and out through the two nozzles below the rider's feet, sending him or her flying anywhere from 15 to 50 feet into the air.

Unlike tradition jet packs, the Flyboard allows for greater maneuverability and options for tricks. With a Flyboard, riders can do anything from dolphin dives to backflips.

Sound fun? There are a couple places for a day trip along the Jersey Shore where you can get your Jetson on.

1. Fly High Watersports - Lake Hopatcong, N.J.

Fly High Watersports offers sales, lessons and demonstrations of water-propelled jet pack devices. The company added the Zapata Racing Flyboard® to its lineup in 2013 and this year will add lessons for the Hoverboard. Lake Hopatcong is just over two hours from Philadelphia.

2. Superfly NJ - Long Beach Island, N.J.

Founded in June 2013, Superfly NJ operates in Barnegat Bay in Long Beach Island. Riders must be a minimum of 100 pounds and at least 15 years of age. Superfly is about an hour and a half drive from the city.

If you're up for a longer road trip, there are places all over the country where you can try Flyboarding.
