Get an education in moonshine at Old City event

Sign up to learn about Prohibition-era cocktails

Grim Philly, a company specializing in walking tours through Old City, has expanded its agenda. There is now an option to sign up for an education in Prohibition-era cocktails.

The class is two hours long and includes history, demonstrations and, of course, samples. The first half of the session takes place at Infusion Lounge, where attendees will receive an overview on how alcohol is made.

JJ Bootleggers Moonshine Bar will be the next stop. As the bar's name suggests, all discussion and tastings will revolve around moonshine. When Prohibition went into effect, the demand for moonshine shot up.

Tickets for the event are $45 per person. It runs on Saturdays, beginning at 3:45 p.m.
