Saturday, Aug. 1, the Glen Foerd mansion in Northeast Philadelphia will turn into a Roaring '20s shindig straight out of "The Great Gatsby." Jazz Age on the Delaware, a daylong lawn party, will fill up the historic site with live music, food and dancing.

Guests are encouraged to dress up in their 1920s best while they picnic along the river, have a drink and enjoy the entertainment. Antique cars and bicycles will be on display, and vintage retailers and lawn games will be available. Guests can even get a lesson in the Charleston or take a tour of Glen Foerd.

Renowned throwback entertainer Dandy Wellington will be MC for the day, ushering Red Hot Ramblers with Chelsea Reed, Drew Nugent & The Midnight Society, The Gin Canaries and dancers The Minsky Sisters onto the stage. A pie-baking contest rounds out the day's activities.

Snacks and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be available for purchase during the day, and guests are welcome to bring their own picnic lunch. Otherwise, picnic lunches can be preordered for $14 or $18. Preservation Society VIP ticket holders receive table seating and a Jazz Age-inspired menu.

Proceeds from the event go to the Glen Foerd Conservation Corp.
