Governor of Texas compares Cowboys defense to U.S.-Mexico border

We here in Philadelphia know a thing or two about governors who are emotionally attached to the local professional football team. Every week, you can hear Ed Rendell’s thoughts on “Post Game Live” right after the Eagles game ends.

Everything is supposed to be bigger in Texas, and current governor Greg Abbott has just raised the stakes. On Sunday Night Football, the Dallas Cowboys lost in overtime (in a game they truly should have lost in regulation) to the New Orleans Saints when Drew Brees and C.J. Spiller connected on an 80-yard touchdown pass. The play prompted Abbott to tweet this:

Well, then. From the looks of his Twitter feed, Abbott is a passionate sports fan. I look forward to what he tweets when Brandon Weeden turns back into a pumpkin.
