Explore the history of cabaret through dinner and a show

Space is limited

Joe Jarboe, artistic director of The Bearded Ladies Cabaret and regular host of La Peg's "Get Pegged" cabaret series, will debut "History of the Cabaret Spectacular" on Jan. 19. The performance will be accompanied by a prix-fixe dinner from chef Peter Woolsey.

Jarboe recently spent several months in Europe researching the history of cabaret as a distinct art form. He uses his new knowledge in "Cabaret Spectacular," which is also a sneak peek of Jarboe's 2018 Fringe Festival show.

For $75 per person, attendees will enjoy the live cabaret performance, a multi-course meal and wine pairings. Additional cocktails will be available à la carte. Seating for the dinner and show is limited to 40 people.

The menu is inspired by both Woolsey's time in Paris and a few famed cabaret cities, including:

• Tartare de Boeuf (representing Paris) with cassis mustard, cornichons and toast points
• Knödel (representing Berlin), which is potato dumplings with sauce nantua and crayfish
• Pepet Vaudois, Saucisse au Choux (representing Zurich), which is cabbage sausage with leeks and potatoes
