Police are investigating after human remains were discovered in a Delaware County state park on New Year's Day.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, a hiker discovered the skeletal remains around 1 p.m. Friday just off of a main trail in Ridley Creek State Park.
The remains are of a white female with a tall, slender build in her late teens to late 20s.
State police were assisted by the Delaware County Medical Examiner's Office. An investigation is ongoing into the discovery.
