An investigation into allegations that male students at North Penn High School posted photos of nude or partially nude female classmates online is continuing, the Montgomery District Attorney’s office said Tuesday.
The scandal made headlines in late March after students expressed outrage at the way school officials responded to the incident, saying they didn’t do enough to support the alleged victims.
The school’s principal, Burton Hynes, responded with an open letter to the school community and subsequently met with students to discuss what had happened.
The allegations focused on several students who were accused of trading nude photos of their female classmates on Dropbox accounts, according to a report on 6ABC. Dropbox is an application that allows users to share files.
In his letter, he said the Towamencin Township school was allowing law enforcement to “sort out the facts.”
Local police referred inquiries to the district attorney's office. Hynes did not return a message from PhillyVoice.com seeking comment.
