Entering their 12th season on television, members of the Paddy's Pub gang are still setting ratings records.
"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" kicked off its 12th season on FXX Network last Wednesday. The premiere, "The Gang Turns Black," netted 1.41 million viewers making the episode the most-watched original telecast in FXX history, according to the network.

This is the show's fourth season on FXX, which launched in September 2013, after airing its first eight seasons on sister station FX. Although FXX doesn't have a long history, the ratings record is a testament to the show's longevity and dedication of the show's creator Rob McElhenney, who plays Mac, and the rest of the cast and crew.
This season's trailer, released in November, proved that the show's writers could still reach new levels of depravity.
This year's premiere outdrew last year's opening episode by five percent and season 11's average viewership by 16 percent. In the coveted 18-49 demographic, the season 12 premiere scored 1.14 million viewers, a seven-percent increase over last season's numbers.
Episodes of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" air Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on the FXX Network.
