Jefferson Health partnering with National Jewish Health to open Respiratory Institute in Philly

The center is set to open this summer

Jefferson Health has partnered with National Jewish Health with plans to open The Respiratory Institute this summer in Philadelphia.

The center will treat patients with infectious respiratory diseases, lung cancer, COPD, asthma and other respiratory illnesses in collaboration with specialists at Jefferson’s Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center and with The Respiratory Institute in New York.

The Respiratory Institute in New York opened in 2014 through a similar partnership between National Jewish Health and New York’s Mount Sinai Health System, and it will act as a model for the Philadelphia center.

The Philadelphia institute, formerly called The Jane and Leonard Korman Respiratory Institute after its benefactors, will also provide a research network for complex respiratory illnesses.
