Lanes were closed on I-95 northbound in Lawrence Township, New Jersey, Thursday morning after a tractor-trailer overturned, spilling its contents across the highway.
New Jersey State Police say the driver escaped with only minor injuries.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
Traffic continued to build as a result of the incident.
Drivers are urged to seek alternate routes as crews work to clear the scene.
