Police: Man drives off with $150K after ATM workers leave bag of cash behind

Police in New Jersey are searching for a man who allegedly took a bag containing $150,000 in cash after two employees who were filling ATMs mistakenly left it behind, NBC10 reports.

According to Mahwah police, the ATM employees had stopped at a business on Industrial Avenue. One of them placed the bag of money on the front lawn while he moved items around in the vehicle, and the two then drove off without it.

Surveillance video then shows a passenger in a white van grabbing the bag after 11:15 a.m. Monday.

In other video surveillance, the van can be seen pulling into a nearby auto repair business and allegedly pilfering used tires.

The ATM employees are reportedly cooperating with the investigation.
