Medics requested to respond to 1,000 who rushed stage at Made in America

The incident happened during Jay Electronica's performance at the festival's Liberty Stage

Medics and emergency response teams were requested to respond to more than 1,000 people who rushed a stage at the Budweiser Made in America Concert Saturday, a festival that's drawn thousands to the Ben Franklin Parkway every Labor Day Weekend since 2012.

One attendee told the Inquirer that the incident happened during Jay Electronica's performance at the Liberty Stage – one of the festival's five stages.

The hip-hop artist from New Orleans called his fans up on stage as he sang, "We Made It."

This year's performers – including Rihanna and Coldplay – are likely to draw many. Last year, the festival saw more than 130,000 attendees.

The 2016 festival extends from Saturday until Sunday while Rihanna will take the Rocky Stage Saturday night at 9:30 p.m.

Live Nation's contract with Philadelphia will expire next year.
