A new, free exhibit is transforming the Leonard Pearlstein Gallery in Drexel’s Westphal College of Media Arts & Design into a place to skate. The exhibit, "Philly Radness: An Interactive Pop-Up Skatepark," will be on display until May 22, with an opening reception on Thursday, April 7, from 5-7 p.m.
Video projections with sound and motion-responsive elements were used to create the exhibit/skatepark.
The exhibit debuted in Miami, but to make the experience location-specific, video projections from Philly-based skate videographer Chris Mulhern were used for the Drexel installment.
"Philly Radness" will be open to the public Tuesdays through Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. until the exhibit ends in late May.
