Obama coming to Philly to campaign for Clinton

President Barack Obama will make a campaign stop in Philadelphia to vouch for his former secretary of state's presidential bid.

Obama will attend a voter registration event in Philly on Sept. 13.

More details about the event, such as the time and location, were not immediately released.

Obama will talk to voters about the "high stakes" in this year's election and urge residents to register to vote before the Oct. 11 deadline, according to the Clinton campaign.

Clinton was in the city for a voter registration rally in West Philly on Aug. 16.

She has held a commanding lead over Republican rival Donald Trump in Pennsylvania since the Democratic National Convention.

Trump has said that the only way he could lose Pennsylvania, which hasn't gone for a Republican candidate since 1988, was if "they cheat."

The Clinton campaign said the public can RSVP for the event here.

Correction: An earlier version of this story stated that Hillary Clinton and vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine would be in attendance for the Philadelphia event. However, they will not be there.
