Overnight fire damages popular South Jersey eatery

There is no word on what caused the blaze

An overnight fire has caused substantial damage to Cherry Hill's Short Hills Deli, a popular eat-in-and take-out South Jersey establishment on Evesham Road.

According to the Cherry Hill Fire Department, the fire was under control by 3:30 a.m., about a half hour after the department reported the blaze via social media.

There is no word on what caused the blaze, and no injuries were reported.

CBSPhilly reports the eatery had previously sustained a three-alarm fire back in 2008 that was said to have been caused by a carelessly discarded cigarette.

On Monday morning, before flames would ravage through the restaurant, Short Hills Deli posted a message to its many customers on its Facebook page.
