Pa. school security guard charged after allegedly shoving middle schooler into cafeteria table

A western Pennsylvania school security guard has been fired and charged with simple assault after he allegedly shoved a middle school student's head into a cafeteria table for swearing and making a face at him.

According to court records obtained by The Associated Press and reported by Penn Live, 28-year-old Shaun Thomas was charged Wednesday with simple assault and harassment and was fired by the security firm that is contracted by the school district.

Court records indicate Thomas“yelled in a student's face and pushed the student's head when an administrator tried to separate the two” after the student reportedly “swore, grabbed his pant leg and made faces at him.”

Thomas told police at that time he "grabbed the student's shirt and pulled him to the table."
