Ty Segall & the Muggers: Trocadero Theatre

After almost a decade in music, Ty Segall’s prolific run continued last month with the release of his eighth studio album, "Emotional Mugger." The album offered an undeniable adjustment in Segall’s sound, fleshed out through a new cast of collaborators. Thankfully, "Emotional Mugger" hit the spot, and fans can catch the singer-songwriter alongside his new band, the Muggers, at the Troc Friday night.

Gramatik: The Fillmore

Slovenian electronic musician Gramatik arrives at The Fillmore on Friday as part of an ongoing tour in support of his upcoming album, "Epigram," and last year’s "Native Son Remixes" EP, a collection that included a Raekwon-featured remix of the title single produced by Ramzoid. Plus, some good news for anxious fans: Gram has promised to play "Epigram" in full at all his upcoming U.S. performances.

Show 9 p.m.; $23 (ages 18+)

Fake Boyfriend: Philamoca

Newly formed punk trio Fake Boyfriend premiered their debut EP with Stereogum earlier this week and will play the songs at Philamoca Friday night. The project, called "Mercy," carries four gut-wrenching songs and plenty of promise for future music. The EP release show bill also features sets from Lady Parts, Secret Mountain and Shannen Moser.

Lushlife/CSLSX: Johnny Brenda’s

Lushlife’s latest album, his third, is undoubtedly his biggest, and the rollout has earned him some corresponding industry nods: a premiere on Billboard, coverage from Fader and Genius and more. "Ritualize," an album produced entirely by duo CSLSX, is also the rapper’s most ambitious, corralling an eclectic roster of features like Killer Mike, Ariel Pink, Freeway and RJD2.

This weekend, Lushlife celebrates the album release with a proper blowout at Johnny Brenda’s. The man-of-the-hour will share the stage with "Ritualize" collaborators CSLSX and Udbhav Gupta (of Mr. Twin Sister) and Botany.

Doors 8 p.m., Show 9 p.m.; $10-$12

Hugo Capablanca: The Monkey Club

Freshly opened for music, The Monkey Club invites one of Berlin’s top DJs to town on Saturday. Hugo Capablanca, a conceptual artist as much as a DJ, is known for his eclecticism, spinning everything from tropicalia to disco and back. Having held down residencies around the world, Capablanca joins The Magic Message DJs for one of this weekend’s can’t-miss sets.

Show 10 p.m.-2 a.m., $5-$8

Naughty By Nature: Theatre of Living Arts

Hip-hop legends Naughty By Nature are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their second album with a national tour and new EP release. The group originally released their debut, "Independent Leaders," in 1989 under a different name and followed with their eponymous sophomore effort in 1991, the album that gave us the group’s biggest hit to date, “O.P.P.”

After more than 20 shows, Naughty By Nature close out their tour in Philly on Sunday at the TLA.

Doors 7 p.m., Show 8 p.m.; $20

9th Wonder: Silk City

Famed Little Brother producer 9th Wonder brings his monthly 95 Live event from North Carolina to Silk City this weekend. Lil’ Dave, Mike Nyce and DJ Dav will join 9th Wonder this Sunday and the last Sundays of March and April, respectively.
