Playlist: Classic Philly songs that are still popular today

Hits from local artists that are still alive and well

Nothing gets the party started like the perfect throwback jam. But which tunes are the best bet to satisfy the ears?

Polygraph is here to help. The website used Spotify, the free music streaming service, to find out which old-school songs are still alive and well today.

Spotify keeps count of every time a song is played, and Polygraph created an interactive chart to see what songs from before the Internet era are still getting listened to now.

Several vintage tracks clearly remain popular well past their release date, such as the '90s grunge hit "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana (more than 50 million plays), the '80s stadium rocker "Eye Of The Tiger" by Survivor (more than 30 million) and 50 Cent's pre-bankruptcy rap "In Da Club" from 2003 (more than 29 million).

Keeping things local, we used Polygraph's vintage music tool to find out which classic Philly jams are still heard by fans over and over again today. Here are seven tunes performed by artists hailing from in and around the area. (Disclaimer: Some videos contain explicit and potentially offensive language.)
