Police in New Castle County revealed Thursday night that the car in which Temple University law graduate Shazim Uppal was found dead carried a substantial amount of marijuana in it, suggesting it was likely a targeted attack.

Uppal, 27, was found inside his car Monday night in Hockessin, Delaware, in a parking lot on the same block of St. Clair Drive where he lived. Police said he died from gunshot wounds sustained to his upper torso and was last seen driving a 2007 black Audi A8 between 10-11 p.m. Sunday night.
According to NBC 10, detectives found the marijuana inside the car and indicated that it belonged to Uppal.
A funeral and burial service was held for Uppal was held Wednesday and the mosque to which he belonged, Masjid Isa Ibn-e-Maryam in Newark, expressed condolences for his loss.
Uppal graduated from Temple University's Beasley School of Law in July.
