Residents of Paulsboro, New Jersey, can breathe easy.

The gigantic snake on the loose in this Gloucester County town has been captured.

On Wednesday, the Paulsboro Police Department had posted a photo on Facebook of the reptile, believed to a boa constrictor.

Police reported Wednesday night the snake was caught and returned to its owner.

Police found the owner of the snake on Wednesday. It's not clear how it got loose in the first place.

Authorities had advised residents that while boa constrictors are not venomous, pet owners should monitor their animals while they're outside.

They kill small animals by wrapping around them, making it impossible for the prey to take a breath.
