Teen dies after police pull him from Delaware River

A 16-year-old boy who was rescued from the Delaware River on Thursday evening after has died after he was  initially reported missing. 

According to 6ABC, police received a call shortly before 5 p.m. with a report that the teen, who has not been identified, was unaccounted for near the 2400 block of Beech Street.

The Marine Unit of the Philadelphia Police Department located the teenager beneath the Benjamin Franklin Bridge and removed him from the water just before 6 p.m.

He was transported to Hahnemann University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. 

The circumstances of the teen's disappearance and wer not immediately revealed.
