Police searching for missing juvenile who left Chester learning center

Authorities are continuing their efforts to locate a juvenile who went missing from a Chester learning center last week.

According to West Whiteland Township Police, John Thomas Parker, 14, walked away from the Devereux Leo Kanner Learning Center around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9.

The center, located in West Chester, is for children with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Around 3:30 p.m. that day, Parker boarded a train heading toward Philadelphia at the Exton Train Station, police say.

Parker is not from the area as his family is from the District of Columbia. Authorities say that on the train, the teenager was asking people how to get to Washington.

His family has not heard from him since he went missing.

Surveillance footage from the train shows Parker on board wearing a black hoodie and gray pants.

Parker is described as a black male, standing 5'7" and weighing about 110 pounds.
