Police: Man stole Cadillac SUV during test drive in Frankford

Philadelphia police are seeking the public's help identifying this man, who allegedly stole a Cadillac Escalade he was test driving in the city's Frankford neighborhood.

A man allegedly stole a Cadillac SUV after he pulled a gun on the car salesman riding in the passenger seat during a test drive through the city's Frankford neighborhood, Philadelphia police said.

According to police, officers were contacted by a 25-year-old employee of Best Buy Imports, at 4060 Frankford Ave., on Jan. 16.

He told police he had been kicked out of a Cadillac SUV by a man who had claimed he wanted to purchase the vehicle. Police described the suspect as being between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 360 pounds, and they said he walks with a limp. At the time of the alleged theft, police said the suspect was wearing a red baseball cap, gray hooded sweatshirt, black vest and black jeans.

With the suspect driving and the employee in the passenger seat, police said the driver produced a handgun and pointed it at the employee's chest, ordering him to exit the vehicle along the 2100 block of Orthodox St. 

Once the salesman was outside the vehicle, police said the man fled the area in the car and was last seen traveling north on I-95 in the area of the Academy Road exit.

Police said the missing vehicle is a 2007 black Cadillac Escalade. The last six digits of the car's vehicle identification number are: 190935.
