Police in Upper Darby are searching for a suspect in the fatal shooting of a young man who sitting on his porch Wednesday afternoon with a group of friends.
According to authorities, the incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. along the 7000 block of Atlantic Avenue, NBC 10 reports. Investigators say the group was approached by another group and an unidentified suspect pulled out a loaded weapon.
The suspect opened fire and fatally struck the victim – described only as a man in his twenties – at least once before he attempted to run away and collapsed to the ground.
Officials have yet to release a description of the suspect, however there were several witnesses to the shooting and police are urging them to come forward with information.
