Philadelphia police are investigating after a SEPTA bus struck a pedestrian Friday evening in West Kensington, resulting in the man's hospitalization.
SEPTA spokeswoman Kristin Geiger confirmed that a Route 60 bus "made contact with a person" at around 6:00 p.m. on West Allegheny Avenue near Front Street.
The bus left the scene and the victim was transported to Temple University hospital to be treated for his injuries. His condition and the severity of his injuries was not immediately clear.
It was not certain whether the SEPTA driver was aware that he had struck the pedestrian when he left the scene of the accident.
Geiger said the incident remains under investigation.
