Report: The Broncos are not trading for Sam Bradford

It would appear John Elway is smart enough not to give up too much for a below average starting quarterback.

Last night, a report emerged from Mike Klis of 9news.com in Denver that the Broncos were "in" on Sam Bradford. This morning, a conflicting report came via Adam Schefter of ESPN, who appeared on 97.5 the Fanatic (via BGN).

"The Broncos told me yesterday 'No, Sam Bradford’s not going to happen.' Denver is not expecting to trade for Sam Bradford right now," he said. "That’s 100 percent accurate."

Schefter is reporting that the Broncos don't expect the Eagles to trade Bradford to any team, for that matter:

Through his agent, Bradford has acted like a petulant child after learning that the Eagles traded up to the No. 2 overall pick, where they are sure to draft a quarterback. He is trying to force his way out of town by demanding a trade rather than fighting for his job in Philadelphia.

The Eagles have made it clear that they want Bradford to be their starter in 2016.

However, as Sal Paolantonio of ESPN reported on Tuesday, Bradford does not intend to show up to Eagles practices until mandatory camps begin June 7. If he remains on the Eagles' roster, Bradford will have missed a significant chunk of the Eagles' offseason program, and will be behind in learning a new offense. Additionally, there could be questions as to whether Bradford has lost respect among the other players in the locker room.

The Broncos represent the most obvious trade partner for Bradford, seeing as they have a championship level roster, but no viable starting quarterback. If Denver is truly out of the mix, the likelihood that the Eagles keep an unhappy Bradford on their roster going forward increases significantly.
