Report: Eagles getting trade interest for Chase Daniel

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Philadelphia Eagles have received interest in backup quarterback Chase Daniel in a potential trade.

As we reported a month ago, the Eagles are looking to clear significant cap space this offseason. Daniel is scheduled to count for $8 million against the Eagles' cap in 2017, $6 million of which they would save if they traded him. That would, of course, leave a hole at backup quarterback for the Eagles, but with a bona fide franchise quarterback at the helm in Carson Wentz, the Eagles can afford to go a little cheaper there.

After the 2016 season, the Eagles signed all of their practice squad players to furutes contracts, with the exception of Aaron Murray, who was perhaps looking for a better opportunity. He remains unsigned. The Eagles could also place a higher priority on selecting a quarterback in the 2017 NFL Draft if they were to trade Daniel. Here are three who may make sense for the Eagles.
