Report: Father shoots son after argument in Mayfair

Victim, 38, treated for injuries at Aria-Frankford Hospital

Philadelphia police are investigating after a father allegedly shot his son Tuesday afternoon following an argument in the Mayfair section of Northeast Philadelphia.

According to authorities, the incident occurred around 1 p.m. near the intersection of Princeton Avenue and Sackett Street, 6ABC reports.

Investigators said the dispute began while the father and son drove together in a vehicle. The car eventually pulled over and the argument escalated until the father shot his son. The suspect surrendered to authorities and a weapon was recovered at the scene. 

The 38-year-old victim was taken to Aria-Frankford Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. 

It is not yet clear what charges the father will face in the shooting.
