Reports: Charlie Sheen to reveal HIV status on 'Today'

NBC News has announced that Charlie Sheen will be making a "revealing personal announcement" on the "Today" show Tuesday. Though they have not revealed what the interview will entail, Sheen will appear live in-studio with Matt Lauer.

With claims they've spoken with sources close to "Today," TMZ reports that Sheen will be disclosing that he is HIV positive. It appears the interview hopes to beat a National Enquirer investigation into Sheen's diagnosis set to hit newsstands Wednesday, Nov. 18

Sheen, of course, is well-known for both television and film roles, including his long run on CBS sitcom "Two and a Half Men." A very public meltdown led to Sheen's firing from the show in 2011. Since then, he's become as well-known for his partying and erratic behavior as for films like "Platoon" and "Wall Street."
