Rescue Me: Pirate

Our very adoptable pet of the week

Cutie Pirate
ACCT Philly/for PhillyVoice

Yar, who amongst ye has the heart o' gold necessary to adopt or foster an older, one-eyed lass named Pirate?

  • Specifics
  • domestic short hair
  • female, spayed
  • 5-10 years old
  • medium, 12 lbs.
  • uses litterbox

This lovely maiden was abandoned by some long-forgotten, scallywag owner, and is now in search of smooth sailing. Pirate is a relaxed, loving gal who will happily be your first mate for any voyage or storm life throws your way. Like any good pirate, she loves head rubs, fish, bow ties and booty.

Bring Pirate aboard today, she's a treasure!

[Editor’s Note: Usually we rewrite these, but somebody over at ACCT was having a blast with this one — hittin’ the rum, maybe? — and who arrrre we to stand in the way of a good time?]

ACCT Philly strives to make adopting a pet an enjoyable, stress-free process. They ask that you bring a photo ID, proof of address and, if adopting a dog, any children or resident dogs that will be living with your new family member. After filling out a short adoption application, their adoption counselors will help match you with the perfect pet.

All animals are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and have been examined by a veterinarian. Adoption fees and specials vary month to month and can be found on the ACCT website along with adoption locations and hours.

By the way, now's a good time to welcome a cat like Pirate into your house; the Feline Foster Challenge continues through Saturday
