Richard Stockton College upgrading to university status

Richard Stockton College will officially become Stockton University on Wednesday, the Press of Atlantic City reports.

The state college Presidents' Council and Secretary of Higher Education Rochelle Hendricks approved the change, according to President Herman Saatkamp.

A new college seal will formally be approved Wednesday at the Board of Trustees meeting. A campus-wide celebration is planned for 5 p.m. Wednesday in the Campus Center.

Graduates in May will get a diploma from Stockton University, Saatkamp said.
