"What if you could help someone who really needed it, just by eating lunch?" Finally, the 2014 idea that gained over 1,500 supporters on Kickstarter is happening.

Rooster Soup Co. will open on Jan. 23 at 1526 Sansom Street.

Federal Donuts partnered on the project with Broad Street Ministry. The Broad Street Ministry Hospitality Collaborative will receive all of Rooster Soup Co.'s profits, while Federal Donuts will provide 500 pounds of spare chicken parts to the restaurant each week.

The FedNut's leftovers will be used in broth.

While the restaurant will serve a selection of soups (of course), there's more on the menu.  Choose among breakfast items, salads, sandwiches, desserts and full dinners.

Rooster Soup Co. will also serve beer, wine and cocktails.
