Officials are investigating an incident that left one SEPTA train conductor hospitalized after allegedly being assaulted by a passenger.
The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. Friday on a SEPTA Regional Rail train traveling from Center City to Doylestown on the Lansdale/Doylestown line, said Andrew Busch, a SEPTA spokesperson.
The conductor, whose name is not yet being released, was allegedly assaulted at the Wayne Junction Station. The train was stopped at Fern Rock Station for about a half an hour while the conductor was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital. He or she was treated for non life-threatening injuries and released later in the evening, Busch said.
Police responded to the scene but the passenger had already fled by the time authorities arrived. Police have not yet responded to a request for comment.
