ShakesBEER: Actors to perform 'Twelfth Night' while drinking

Audience members encouraged to drink through the performance, too

Update June 28: The event's time has been changed from 7-8:30 p.m. to 6-7:30 p.m.

This summer, the Manayunk Theatre Company will perform another ShakesBEER theater show. The free show will take place on Saturday, July 8, at Pretzel Park in Manayunk.

A staged reading of Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night," adapted and directed by Brey Ann Barrett, will be performed by inebriated actors. The comedy involves mistaken identity, gender-bending and love triangles.

The story line has inspired plenty of remakes and adaptations. Remember "She's the Man" starring Amanda Bynes, anyone?

At the performance, audience members can drink along with the actors. Pay-as-you-go for beer, and remember to bring a blanket to sit on for the show.
